Closer to Fine- Secrets of Simplicity

Fine. I am fine. Really? What does fine really mean?  We say it quick as a wink when we are given the traditional greeting of “hi how are you?”

It is defined in the American dictionary as: excellent  first-class, first-rate, great, exceptional, outstanding, quality, superior, splendid, magnificent, exquisite, choice, select, prime, supreme, superb, wonderful, superlative, of high quality, second to none;

I adore all of those words. I want to be all of them! Until looking up the definition of “fine” I was occasionally annoyed when people were asked how they were and the reply was “fine”. It seemed incredibly shallow.

But- if fine means excellent, first-rate and outstanding- second to none; I am more than ok with being FINE!

Let’s be a little closer to fine today.

What can we do today to live a first-rate, exceptional, outstanding superior and splendid life today?

For starters, I am going to finish up my writing for today, close my laptop, pull on my boots, warm coat and embrace the splendid joy of being alive on a sunny November day in Michigan.

Blessings my FINE friends!

    Thanks for this. I had been intending to go for a walk and these two lines served as a great reminder for me. I did exactly that so now I can relax for the rest of my Sabbath.

    1. Kaye.. and how was your walk my freind ? We both know sunshine in Michigan in the winter is a treasured blessing to enjoy. Today I see a bit more out my window and am looking to bundle a little more today and step out into it again.
