Finding Clarity

Living with intention requires clarity and focus. When you are clear about what matters most to you it changes everything.

What would it look like to live with less confusion and chaos? When you make a choice to operate from a place of clarity, it requires you to make a change and commitment to step out of the distraction and overwhelm.

If you want to make better decisions and find more clarity, these five strategies can be game-changers for you

Determine what matters most to you.
Take time to consider those the things that are most important to you. Write them down. Give them a name. No need to overcomplicate this step, a simple list will do. No overthinking is required here.

Clear the clutter.
If your home or office is visually messy it can keep you in a pattern of being stuck. This is not the time to clear all of the places in your environment. Chose one. Only one. Pre-decide that once a week you will take 15 minutes to reset the space where you create and work. Clearing the physical clutter can open the door for more clarity in the work you do and the life you want to live this week!

Shut down the distractions.
Research shows it can take 15 minutes or more to shift your focus back after an interruption. The notifications, beeps, and dings from our devices are like a snake charmer. We have the best intentions, but it’s hard to turn away when we hear those sounds. Turn off the notifications if you find it hard to resist the draw while you are doing other work.

Be still.
Set aside a few moments each day to simply be still. Visual and audio clutter can be just as distracting as physical clutter. I have found journaling or writing as a “brain dump” with no other goal in mind other than to get it out of my head has been more helpful than what makes sense!

Give yourself permission for a do-over.
Challenge yourself to dust off what has felt like a failure or a mistake and try again. What if the things we dream of but have stuffed deep inside because we are fearful of being hurt, failing, or making a mistake is really a place to reset and restart again?

Clarity begins when we begin to set aside the excess, the distractions, and the unnecessary. Clarity comes when we are living in alignment with what matters most to us and we begin to say no to that which is not.

Clarity begins with small, simple steps. I encourage you to choose one or two of the suggestions above and make a few little changes.

I would love to hear what is working for YOU!

Cheering you on!
