Annie Dillard how we spend our days

Intentional

What does it mean to live an intentional life and why does it matter?

We love giving and receiving gifts. Choosing just the right one is a delight and the anticipation of giving to someone special is so much fun!

I believe when we purpose to live with intention instead of overwhelm and craziness it’s a priceless gift we give to ourselves and those we love.

Intentional Living is a Gift We Give to Ourselves.

I am drawn to a quote from Annie Dillard “How we spend our days is, of course how we spend our lives.”

I believe life is precious and tomorrow is never guaranteed.

These words are powerful reminders that each choice we make is a thread woven into the fabric of our lives…one strand affected by the next.

Intentional Living is Asking Why You Do What You Do.

It means choosing to be fully present in the moment regardless of what shiny thing calls for our attention.

Intentional Living is Having a Reason For Your Actions.

A huge part of living an intentional life is accepting we have the power to make choices.

Intentional Living is Knowing What Your Core Values Are.

When we know what we stand for, we can make sure the life we’re living on the outside matches what the intention of our heart is.

Intentional Living is Making the Decision Every Day to Live Differently.

It means paying attention to what is going on around us and being okay with not knowing all the answers.

Intentional Living Allows us to Savor Ordinary Moments.

It means valuing people more than stuff and choosing relationships over things.

The good news is we have choices and can live with intention instead of  overwhelm.

It’s time my friend to begin doing more of what brings you joy, inspires  creativity and encourages those God places in your path.

Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans Proverbs 16:3

Are you doing more of the things that simply keep you alive, or more things that make you feel alive?

What are those things? What needs to change for you to make room for more of those things which make you come alive?
